The latest road safety figures released by the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community show a small drop in the number of people losing their lives on the roads of the Western Balkans. In 2024, the region recorded 1,225 road traffic deaths, compared to 1,261 in 2023 – a 2.9% decrease. Since 2019, the number of fatalities in the region has fallen by 6.8%.
