The forum serves as an inclusive platform where stakeholders from diverse backgrounds converge to collaborate on shaping a sustainable and environmentally friendly future for mobility. Participants, including social partners, civil society organisations, and stakeholders, will work towards contributing to a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable mobility transition.

The event will feature two panel discussions focusing on environmental and social impacts of the green transition.

The first panel, “A Socially Just Green Mobility Transition,” will focus on the social impact of the green mobility transition, emphasising the importance of ensuring that the transition is socially inclusive. Participants will discuss strategies and policies that ensure the benefits of the green transition reach workers in the transport sector, local communities, and vulnerable populations. Throughout the discussion, panellists will unpack the complexities surrounding the evolving roles and livelihoods of workers within the transport sector in light of greener practices and technologies.

The ministerial session will focus on fostering dialogue between civil society organisations (CSOs) and Ministers regarding the green mobility transition, with a special emphasis on Economic and Investment Plan (EIP) transport projects. During the session, CSOs will have the opportunity to present their findings and perspectives on the implementation of selected EIP projects and their impact on green transition efforts. Subsequently, Ministers from the Western Balkans region will provide their insights and engage in discussions regarding the flagship transport projects currently monitored by the CSOs.
