The figures for the 2023 year show an increase in the number of fatalities for Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia in comparison with the 2022 year which brings road safety issues to a big concern in the region. From Observing Participants an increase in the number of fatalities is reported from Georgia.
Serbia has reported a decrease of 9% in fatalities for 2023, with 502 fatalities which is 51 deaths less than in 2022 year. It should be noted that the figures for 2023 are provisional for some regional partners and may be subject to minor changes after April 2024 when the official data are released.
