Serbia and Transport Community Reaffirm Cooperation on Transport Reform and Connectivity

BELGRADE – Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community Tālis Linkaits met with Aleksandra Sofronijević, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, for an introductory courtesy meeting focused on strengthening cooperation and advancing Serbia’s integration into the European Union transport market.

The discussion addressed Serbia’s continued alignment with EU transport rules and standards, the implementation of transport projects and reforms, and priorities for further cooperation within the framework of the Transport Community Treaty.

Particular attention was given to cross-border mobility and the challenges affecting professional truck drivers. Both sides highlighted the importance of coordinated regional and European solutions that facilitate transport operations, improve connectivity and support the efficient movement of people and goods.

Director Linkaits and Minister Sofronijević welcomed the excellent cooperation between Serbia and the Transport Community and confirmed their readiness to continue working together towards a safer, more efficient and better-connected transport system linking Serbia, the Western Balkans and the European Union.
