BELGRADE/TIRANA – Following the successful opening of negotiations on EU negotiations Chapters 14 and 21, Albania and the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community have joined forces to ensure smooth progress in this crucial stage of Albania’s EU accession process.

Teams from all transport sectors on both sides mobilised to discuss the way forward and the support that the Transport Community can provide to Albania’s institutions. During the meeting, Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, Mr Matej Zakonjšek, and Albania’s General Director of the Department of Infrastructure and Territory Policy and Development at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Ms Erjola Muka, underlined the importance of coordinated efforts and close cooperation on the tasks ahead.

It was agreed that the Secretariat’s support will be provided both directly and through other available instruments to ensure effective alignment with EU standards. To maintain momentum, Albania and the Secretariat will meet on a regular monthly basis to review progress in each transport sector and ensure continuous coordination.

This cooperation adds on advancing Albania’s integration into the EU transport market and reinforces the Transport Community’s commitment to supporting regional partners on their European path.
