BELGRADE/CHIŞINĂU – Director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community Tālis Linkaits held an introductory online meeting with Republic of Moldova’s Vice Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, reaffirming the shared commitment to advancing transport reforms and bringing Moldova closer to the European Union’s transport market.
The meeting provided an opportunity to establish direct contact following Director Linkaits’ recent assumption of duties and to take stock of the cooperation between the Transport Community and the Republic of Moldova. Discussions focused on Moldova’s progress in aligning its transport sector with the EU transport acquis and on the support provided by the Transport Community to strengthen institutions, implementation capacities and the reform process.
The interlocutors discussed priorities for further cooperation, with particular emphasis on maintaining close coordination with the Moldova’s authorities, ensuring effective implementation of ongoing activities and identifying areas where targeted technical assistance and capacity-building can accelerate reforms.
The meeting laid the foundation for continued high-level dialogue and closer cooperation, with the shared objective of translating Moldova’s European ambitions into concrete progress towards a safer, more efficient, sustainable and better-connected transport system.
